New NatureTrek Offerings:
We’ve added many new and exciting NatureTreks on top of our already large selection of Treks focusing on scenic hiking and guided natural history interpretation. These include:
- PhotoTreks led by professional nature photographers who excel at showing participants how to use all those buttons and options on their digital cameras…and then take amazing pictures!
- Fascinating, informative “themed” Treks such as learning about nature’s bounty from identifying edible (and poisonous!) mushrooms to ethno-botany hikes where participants learn what plants are edible and ones that can make you well, stop bleeding or cure infections and more!
- Exciting TeamTreks that are a unique combination of natural history research, exploration and stimulating team building adventure. Part rapid assessment program and part scientific research expedition, teams are challenged to come up with a creative and interesting solution to a timely issue or problem posed by us at the start of the program.
- Treks that focus on teaching participants aboriginal living and survival skills such as what plants the Ohlone Tribe depended on for food and medicine and how the Desert Paiute people adaptated to living in the harsh climate of the Great Basin.
